San Lucas Festival in Jaén features music and safety initiatives

The San Lucas Festival in Jaén features a diverse cultural and safety program. At the La Alameda Municipal Auditorium, the OPEN San Lucas Festival 2026 showcased musical acts including Chambao, celebrating their 25th anniversary, alongside María Peláe and Las Migas. The performances focused on a fusion of flamenco, copla, and contemporary sounds.

To ensure safety during the festivities, the Jaén City Council has implemented a ‘Punto Violeta’ (Violet Point) service. This initiative provides information, prevention, and assistance regarding harassment or gender-based violence. The service includes a fixed tent at the fairground entrance and mobile teams patrolling the grounds, particularly near music venues. Local stalls are also participating by using distinctive markings to identify establishments with staff trained to provide support.
