San Luis Agua to regulate seven provincial reservoirs

San Luis Agua has announced the preventive opening of bottom discharge valves at seven provincial reservoirs to regulate water levels in preparation for the upcoming rainy season. The operations will affect the La Florida, Saladillo, Luján, Paso de las Carretas, Nogolí, and San Felipe reservoirs, with maneuvers at the La Huertita dam scheduled for August 23.

The technical plan utilizes meteorological forecasts, soil analysis, and bathymetric studies to determine precise discharge percentages and prevent downstream flooding. In the Quintose River basin, discharge rates are set at 15% for La Florida, 20% for Saladillo, and 22% for Paso de las Carretas. Additionally, the Luján dam will undergo a 50% opening. Authorities have advised caution for those traveling near the Quinto River and adjacent areas.
