San Luis expands Transpuntano fleet with six new buses

The Municipality of San Luis has added six new zero-kilometer buses to its Transpuntano fleet, bringing the total number of new units acquired in the last ten months to 17. The new vehicles will immediately begin service to reinforce routes A, N, P, F, and D.

Mayor Gastón Hissa and Governor Claudio Poggi attended the presentation at Paseo del Cantor Puntano. Hissa noted that each unit costs approximately between 270 million and 280 million pesos, representing a total investment of roughly 4.59 billion to 4.76 billion pesos for the 17 vehicles. The mayor emphasized that the investment is driven by social function rather than economic profitability, aiming to improve service frequency and connectivity between neighborhoods.

The expansion also has employment implications, with the new units generating 40 new jobs. Transpuntano currently employs 350 workers. Additionally, the municipality reported the construction of 500 bus shelters over the past year to improve passenger infrastructure.
