San Luis Potosí advances autism inclusion reforms

The government of San Luis Potosí, led by Governor Ricardo Gallardo Cardona, is drafting reforms to the state Law for the Attention and Protection of Persons on the Autism Spectrum. A meeting involving the Secretariat of General Government, the Coordination for Attention to Persons with Disabilities, state legislators, civil‑society groups and families was held to shape a comprehensive proposal.

The reforms aim to improve access to education and employment, streamline timely diagnosis, create a state‑wide registry of autistic residents, allocate dedicated budget resources and strengthen the role of the 59 municipalities in delivering coordinated support and independent‑living services.
