San Luis Potosí advances major road and transit infrastructure projects
Governor Ricardo Gallardo Cardona has announced significant progress in infrastructure and mobility projects within the state of San Luis Potosí. Work is currently underway on the expansion of the Río Santiago Boulevard, with the pouring of the first kilometer of the roadway already in progress. This project is intended to serve as a strategic alternative to Highway 57 toward Matehuala and improve connectivity between the state capital and Soledad de Graciano Sánchez.
Additionally, construction is advancing on the new highway to Villa de Zaragoza. Current works include hydraulic base preparation, water crossings, and emulsion impregnation, with asphalt laying scheduled to begin next week. These projects aim to modernize the state's road network to support economic growth and improve access for students, workers, and producers.
In the sector of public transit, the Mi RedMetro service has been reported as a successful initiative. Users have highlighted the economic benefits of the free service, noting its accessibility, cleanliness, and inclusive design for people with disabilities, which assists in reducing household transportation costs across the metropolitan area.
