San Luis Potosí and Aguascalientes host sports events to boost tourism and fund health care

The Instituto Potosino de Cultura Física y Deporte (Inpode) and the municipality of Cerro de San Pedro announced the fourth edition of the Serial Rutas y Pueblos Mágicos, a trail running race to be held on June 20‑21, 2026. Hundreds of athletes are expected to compete on routes that showcase the historic mining landscape of the Pueblo Mágico, with entry fees of 450 pesos for the general public and a reduced rate of 350 pesos for local residents, teachers and students.

In Aguascalientes, the Rotary Campestre organization will stage the BIGOS 2026 golf tournament on July 3, 2026. The event aims to raise one million pesos to purchase pacemakers for low‑income patients lacking social security. Registration fees range from 3,500 to 4,000 pesos per player, and corporate sponsorship packages are offered to increase the fundraising target.
