San Luis Potosí Announces 46th Lila López International Dance Festival
The Secretariat of Culture, led by Juan Carlos Torres Cedillo, officially presented the 46th edition of the Lila López International Contemporary Dance Festival, scheduled for 24 July to 2 August 2026. The free program aims to attract about 15 000 participants and to position San Luis Potosí as a leading stage for contemporary dance in the country and continent. Under the theme “Cuerpos, identidades y movimientos…”, the festival will highlight women’s work, diversity and inclusive languages.
An investment of three million pesos (two million state, one million federal via the PROFEST program) will support activities in Matehuala, Santa María del Río, Soledad de Graciano Sánchez, Villa de Pozos and Villa de Reyes. The lineup includes 26 performances, 10 technical workshops, four master‑classes, two exhibitions and five talks, plus awards and scholarships for dancers. International participants from the United States, Canada and Costa Rica will join Mexican ensembles from nine states. In Soledad de Graciano Sánchez, specific events include the Xochitini group’s anniversary show on 25 July, a children’s dance story on 27 July, and a women’s dance workshop the same day, all offered free of charge.
