San Luis Potosí announces cultural awards and celebrates school anniversary
The Municipal Government of San Luis Potosí has opened nominations for the 2026 “Daniel de la Llera” Cultural Merit Award. The call for entries, running from September 17 to October 8, 2026, seeks to recognize individuals and civil society organizations that have significantly contributed to the city's cultural development through creation, management, and promotion.
Eligible individuals include residents or those with at least 10 years of continuous residency in the municipality who possess a minimum of 10 years of artistic or cultural experience. Legally constituted organizations focused on cultural promotion are also eligible. The award covers various fields, including visual arts, performing arts, music, literature, and traditional knowledge.
In a separate local development, the Escuela de Artes y Oficios Los Infante celebrated its 145th anniversary. Founded in 1881, the institution provides technical training in fields such as nursing, gastronomy, fashion, and accounting. To mark the anniversary, the school inaugurated a new ludoteca (playroom/learning center) to support its student community.
