San Luis Potosí Congress advances legislative initiatives
The San Luis Potosí Congress has approved several legislative initiatives and points of agreement during its Permanent Deputation session.
To commemorate the bicentennial of the state's constitution, a solemn session has been scheduled for September 2, 2026. Additionally, new proposals were introduced to reform laws regarding the rights of older adults and children and adolescents, aiming to integrate human rights and inclusion into public policy.
In the realm of public health, Deputy María del Mar Treviño Garza urged the Federal Ministry of Health and CONASAMA to implement permanent campaigns to destigmatize perinatal mental health disorders, such as postpartum depression and psychosis.
Regarding economic policy, Deputy Guillermo Ruiz Guerra called on the Agency for Digital Transformation and Telecommunications to prioritize the simplification and digitalization of procedures for micro and small businesses. This initiative seeks to reduce the significant bureaucratic burden that currently impacts the profitability and operation of small economic units in Mexico.
