San Luis Potosí Congress digitizes 200 years of legislative history

The Congress of San Luis Potosí has launched a digital initiative to preserve and facilitate access to its legislative historical memory. As part of the commemorations for the bicentennial of the state's 1826 Constitution, officials introduced the Digital Historical Index of Congress Decrees, a commented index book, and a digital consultation area within the 'Octavio Paz' Library.

The project aims to digitize, organize, and provide access to decrees issued by the legislative power since the 19th century. Currently, the platform contains approximately 1,620 indexed documents, but the final stage of the project is expected to consolidate nearly 16,000 decrees issued between 1824 and 2006.

As part of this effort, a new research publication was presented covering the period from April 21, 1824, to October 8, 1835. This work analyzes approximately 550 decrees, involving the study of over 6,000 pages of official documents to reconstruct the political episodes and decision-making processes that shaped the state's early constitutional regime.
