San Luis Potosí electoral authorities face complaints and tribunal ruling amid party disputes

Former San Luis Potosí mayor Xavier Nava Palacios appeared before the state electoral council (CEEPAC) to lodge a formal complaint alleging that the Ecologist Green Party of Mexico (PVEM) and officials, including Governor Ricardo Gallardo Cardona, used public resources for premature campaign activities. Nava cited the “La Gallardía” event as an example, urging an investigation into its financing and stating, “Se está vulnerando la equidad. No puede convertirse en una constante. El CEEPAC debe intervenir y hacer valer la legalidad.”

Separately, the State Electoral Tribunal of San Luis Potosí ruled that a dispute over the registration of PT member María Guadalupe Vivas must first be settled by the party’s internal commission. Vivas, who claims she was denied registration and accused party leader Gerardo Acosta Zavala of gender‑based political violence and lack of transparency, will have her case examined by the PT’s National Conciliation, Guarantees, Justice and Controversies Commission within five business days.
