San Luis Potosí expands youth vocational training through municipal and state programs

The Institute of Municipal Youth in Soledad de Graciano Sánchez, working with the state Institute of Training for Work (ICAT), opened registrations for a series of auto‑employment workshops for local young people. Courses include basic training in piñata making, barbering, gelish nail application, makeup, and eyelash extension, alongside ongoing cultural, sports and educational activities. Institute director Juan Jesús Ferrer Torres said the initiatives reflect Mayor Juan Manuel Navarro Muñiz’s push to strengthen public policies for youth development.

At the same time, ICAT inaugurated a new training hub in Ciudad Valles, where officials demonstrated high‑demand skills and explained the program’s aim to improve employment and entrepreneurial opportunities for families throughout San Luis Potosí. Director general Estefanía Flores Saldierna highlighted the event as part of the state government's strategy to bring education and job‑creation tools to the four regional zones.
