San Luis Potosí facial recognition cameras identify 40 criminal targets
Facial recognition cameras installed in San Luis Potosí have identified approximately 40 criminal targets. Jesús Juárez Hernández, head of the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC), reported that these identifications were estimated based on results obtained during the Feria Nacional Potosina (Fenapo).
The equipment has been strategically placed at locations including the State Attorney General's Office, the State Civil Guard, and various citizen service sites. Officials noted that these devices provide clearer images than conventional street cameras, aiding operational tasks. The identified individuals may include leaders or members of criminal groups operating near the borders of San Luis Potosí, as well as individuals linked to active investigations or arrest warrants.
