San Luis Potosí Governor Announces 3,000 Higher‑Education Scholarships and New Student Bus
Governor Ricardo Gallardo Cardona of the Mexican state of San Luis Potosí said the state will award 3,000 scholarships to students who have been admitted to higher‑education institutions but did not secure a place at the Universidad Autónoma de San Luis Potosí. The program, to be administered by the state’s Secretariat of Education, will cover studies at universities such as the Universidad Politécnica, Universidad Tecnológica Metropolitana and the Instituto Tecnológico Superior de San Luis Potosí.
During a tour of the Huasteca region, Gallardo also presented a new bus to the Tecnológico Nacional de México campus in Ciudad Valles. The vehicle will join the existing Mi RedMetro free‑transport system, providing safe, cost‑free mobility for students attending academic, sports and cultural activities.
Both initiatives are part of the governor’s broader policy to expand educational opportunities and reduce transportation barriers for young people across the state.
