San Luis Potosí Governor guarantees fiscal stability for 2026

San Luis Potosí Governor Ricardo Gallardo Cardona has announced that the state government maintains sufficient budgetary resources to ensure a stable financial close for the 2026 fiscal year. This stability is intended to guarantee the timely payment of year-end obligations, including bonuses, pensions, and payments to suppliers, without disrupting public services, social programs, or infrastructure projects.

The administration attributes this financial position to five years of budgetary discipline, expenditure control, and financial planning aimed at moving away from previous debt-heavy practices. The Governor noted that the state’s responsible management of public resources has been recognized by credit rating agencies, including Fitch Ratings, HR Ratings, and PCR Verum, which have issued favorable evaluations regarding the state's financial stability and capacity to meet its obligations.
