San Luis Potosí Governor Ricardo Gallardo expands infrastructure and social aid
State Governor Ricardo Gallardo Cardona reported progress on a slate of infrastructure projects across San Luis Potosí, including the modernization of the main access road to Axtla de Terrazas, the upcoming inauguration of the Paso a Desnivel at the Arena Potosí, and continued work on the Vía Alterna, MetroRed, Riviera Huasteca and other regional road upgrades. The administration says these works will improve mobility for more than 12,000 residents in 19 localities and support the upcoming Feria Nacional Potosina.
Economic indicators show the state’s primary sector grew 7.2 % in the first quarter of 2026, outpacing the national average, while the autoparts industry generated $4.8 billion in export sales, accounting for roughly 72 % of the state’s manufacturing exports. The governor also announced a federal transfer of 6.8 million pesos for mental‑health and addiction services, and a school‑supply program that will provide free backpacks, shoes and materials to 34,000 students with a budget of over 17 million pesos. Preparations are under way for the governor’s fifth government report, which will detail these achievements and further investments in credit lines, industrial parks and community projects.
