San Luis Potosí Governor Ricardo Gallardo Expands Social Support Programs

Governor Ricardo Gallardo Cardona of San Luis Potosí reported that the state’s social strategy has distributed 12.8 million food parcels and invested more than 347.5 million pesos in the Alimentación Escolar program, benefiting almost 150 000 students across 59 municipalities. The administration says the aid includes larger food boxes with 20 premium items and household cleaning supplies, aiming to ensure three meals per day for families.

Through the Enchúlame la Colonia initiative, the state’s DIF agency delivered wheelchairs, crutches, canes and walkers to 120 residents of the Bellas Lomas and Satélite neighborhoods, responding directly to citizen requests and reinforcing the governor’s policy of direct, intermediary‑free assistance.

The combined efforts are presented as part of a broader strategy that also includes health clinics, scholarships for seniors and single mothers, student insurance, and free school supplies, with the goal of expanding benefits so no family is left behind.
