Veracruz and Ahome to compete in MLB Cup Mexico 2026 final

Veracruz and Ahome have been named the finalists for the MLB Cup Mexico 2026. The championship match is scheduled to take place this Saturday at 13:00 at the Potosí Baseball Park in San Luis Potosí.

The Veracruz Youth and Children's League secured its place in the final after a 7-0 victory over the Sur Ojo de Agua League from Saltillo, Coahuila. Ahome, representing Sinaloa, earned its first appearance in this stage by defeating the Ferrocarrilera Little League of Aguascalientes with a score of 1-0.

Governor Ricardo Gallardo Cardona expressed support for the international-scale sporting event, noting that such competitions provide high-level competitive experiences for young talents and position San Luis Potosí as a significant venue for major sports. The final will feature special guest Mexican catcher Brandon Valenzuela.
