San Luis Potosí infrastructure and environmental injunctions proceed

Legal proceedings regarding environmental injunctions and infrastructure projects in San Luis Potosí are moving forward despite attempts to delay them.

Municipal syndic Víctor Salgado Delgadillo clarified that an injunction related to the El Saucito underpass project does not halt administrative processes. While the court has prohibited physical execution of the work until certain conditions are met—specifically allowing five complainants to review the project—the municipality is permitted to continue necessary administrative steps. This follows conflicting statements regarding whether the injunction had suspended bidding processes.

Separately, environmental activist Luis González Lozano of the organization Cambio de Ruta reported that various environmental injunctions continue to progress. He noted that while government entities have used legal resources to interrupt or extend trials, judicial processes remain active. Examples include cases involving Dinoasis in Tangamanga and the Bulevar Río Santiago. Lozano highlighted an upcoming judicial inspection following the removal of 20 healthy trees, questioning whether such actions can be justified as environmental mitigation.
