San Luis Potosi institutions honor deceased with Day of the Dead altars
The State Regular Educational System (SEER) and the State Roads Board (JEC) in San Luis Potosi have installed commemorative altars to celebrate Day of the Dead and Xantolo 2026.
SEER dedicated an offering to musician Pedro Rosa Acuña, recognized for his contributions to Huastecan tradition and Mexican folklore. Martín Rodríguez Ramírez, head of SEER, noted that these activities aim to transmit the significance of the holiday to younger generations and preserve local cultural expressions.
The JEC prepared an altar to honor deceased road workers as part of an offering contest organized by the Officialía Mayor. Both installations utilized traditional elements, including cempasúchil flowers, photographs, candles, pan de muerto, and copal, to maintain regional customs.
