San Luis Potosí leads Mexico in auto parts exports

San Luis Potosí has secured the first place in Mexico for auto parts exports, contributing significantly to the state's position as the ninth-largest exporter in the country by total value. According to INEGI, the state recorded foreign sales of 6.8932 billion dollars during the second quarter of 2026, representing a 7.3 percent annual growth.

The manufacturing sector accounts for 99.9 percent of the state's exports, driven largely by the production of transport equipment and electrical accessories. Governor Ricardo Gallardo Cardona noted that the state has attracted approximately 9.5 billion dollars (roughly 200 billion pesos) in foreign investment during his administration.

Efforts to attract further capital from Asia and Germany are ongoing to expand industrial capacity and diversify the economy. Between October 2021 and September 2026, the state accumulated nearly 10 billion dollars in concerted private investment, with export values growing by 94.4 percent since the start of the current administration.
