San Luis Potosí legislator rejects dialogue with Mayor Galindo

Luis Fernando Gámez Macías, President of the State Congress Board of Directors, has formally rejected any personal or institutional dialogue with San Luis Potosí capital Mayor Enrique Galindo Ceballos. Gámez characterized the mayor as “pendenciero” (quarrelsome) and “majadero” (obnoxious), accusing him of attacking the image of the legislature and disrespecting Governor Ricardo Gallardo Cardona.

The confrontation follows criticisms made by Galindo regarding the Governor’s performance in a national charrería championship. Gámez further leveled several accusations against the mayor, including claims of mismanagement regarding sports, security, and green areas, as well as an outstanding audit involving 450 million pesos.

Despite the heightened political tension, Gámez stated that the conflict would not impede the legislative process concerning revenue laws or state budgets. While the PVEM party leadership expressed a willingness to maintain institutional communication with the mayor, Gámez maintained that he would not personally extend a hand to Galindo at this time.
