San Luis Potosí mayor Enrique Galindo pushes for broad opposition coalition ahead of 2027 election

Municipal president Enrique Galindo Ceballos of San Luis Potosí said he is willing to form an alliance that includes the PRI, PAN, PRD and Movimiento Ciudadano to contest the 2027 state elections. Galindo, a former PRI‑affiliated politician now running as a PAN candidate for governor, stated “Si es posible, hasta MC” and suggested that exceptions to the PAN’s national stance against coalitions could be made in some states.

In a separate ceremony, Galindo presented the 2026 Municipal Merit in Ecology awards, honoring projects such as “Escuelas Linux,” which repurposes electronic waste for school use, and the “Programa Integral de Economía Circular Wabtec.” He highlighted the initiatives as models of innovation, community participation and sustainable development for the capital city.

Both actions underscore Galindo’s effort to broaden his political reach while promoting environmental programs in the municipality.
