San Luis Potosí mayor honors award‑winning environmental projects
Mayor Enrique Galindo Ceballos presented the 2026 Municipal Merit Ecological Award in San Luis Potosí during World Environment Day. The ceremony recognized projects such as “Escuelas Linux o Cómo convertir la chatarra electrónica en herramienta educativa escolar” by Carlos Andrés Rodríguez Barrientos and the “Programa Integral de Economía Circular Wabtec” represented by Israel Castañeda Cepeda. Additional initiatives in environmental education, natural‑resource conservation, urban reforestation, circular‑economy practices and community participation were also honored. Galindo emphasized the role of innovation, civic collaboration and the city’s alignment with the UN Agenda 2030, pledging continued public policies and programs to sustain the capital’s environmental goals.
