San Luis Potosí officials plan migrant caravan and warn of fraud
Authorities in San Luis Potosí are preparing for the sixth Potosino Migrant Caravan for 2026. Nadia Ochoa Limón, head of the State Civil Protection Coordination, announced an inter-institutional action plan to ensure the safe passage and return of thousands of migrants during the December season. The plan includes deploying ambulances, paramedics, and mechanical assistance, while monitoring weather risks such as rain and low temperatures in the Altiplano region.
Separately, the State Civil Protection Coordination has reported approximately 20 instances of fraudulent calls. Individuals are impersonating agency workers to warn businesses of upcoming inspections and solicit payments. Ochoa Limón clarified that the agency does not announce inspections via telephone or request payments through calls. Citizens and businesses are urged to report suspicious communications to the official agency number.
