San Luis Potosí promotes sports through new awards and tennis tournament

San Luis Potosí is hosting several sporting initiatives to promote local and professional talent. The Municipal Sports Award 2026 has been announced, which will recognize four categories: non-professional athletes, adapted sports athletes, coaches, and professional athletes. Winners in most categories will receive an economic incentive of 40,000 pesos.

Additionally, the city is hosting the inaugural ‘Sin Límites San Luis Open’ tennis tournament from October 1 to 4 at the renovated Centro Tenístico in Parque Tangamanga I. The event features over 160 participants, including 40 professional players affiliated with the Asociación Mexicana de Tenistas Profesionales and more than 120 amateur players. The tournament offers a total prize pool of 500,000 pesos and ensures equal prize distribution between the men's and women's professional divisions.
