San Luis Potosí public works projects stalled by state review
Between 14 and 17 public works projects in San Luis Potosí are currently stalled as the Contraloría General del Estado (CGE) reviews the preliminary bidding documents. Eustorgio Chávez Garza, director of Public Works for the municipality, stated that the projects cannot proceed to the bidding and contracting phases until the CGE releases these pre-bases.
Key pending projects include the El Saucito vehicular underpass, the Villa Magna bridge, interventions on Eje 140, pothole repairs in the Industrial Zone, and paving on the road to Peñasco. The municipality considers the El Saucito and Villa Magna projects high priorities.
The administration aims to utilize over 600 million pesos of its own resources, alongside approximately 200 million pesos in federal funds. Once authorization is received, the bidding process is expected to take roughly 45 days. The city is working toward a goal of completing approximately 90 works by the end of the year, with 77 projects already under execution.
