San Luis Potosí pushes lactation rooms and refugee job training

The government of the Mexican state of San Luis Potosí is expanding workplace inclusivity. On June 17, the State Labor and Social Welfare Secretariat will hold a virtual course for officials from 59 municipalities on installing lactation rooms, aiming to increase certified spaces for nursing mothers in public institutions.

At the same time, the Institute of Training for Work (ICAT) is strengthening its Technical Training Center in Logistics, adding modern simulators and partnering with Scania México and the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) to provide technical logistics training to refugees and other vulnerable groups. Scholarships covering 50% of course fees are offered to eligible participants, improving their chances of formal employment.
