San Luis Potosí renovates 29 blocks of its historic center
The government of San Luis Potosí has implemented the ‘Centro Histórico, Corazón de San Luis’ program, a permanent policy aimed at conserving the city's heritage and improving urban order. The initiative covers 29 strategic blocks within an area of approximately 4.2 square kilometers, a zone central to the city's social, commercial, and tourist activity.
Key actions under the program include the removal of 275 pieces of deteriorated urban furniture, the repair of 280 accessibility features such as ramps, and the intervention of 44 building facades at risk. Additionally, the project has focused on urban mobility by establishing a ‘Zona 30’, creating dedicated parking for motorcycles and bicycles, and reorganizing waste collection systems. The program also includes the ‘Graffiti Cero’ initiative, which has addressed 200 walls and urban elements.
