San Luis Potosí replaces head of Secretariat of Women
The government of San Luis Potosí has announced a leadership change at the Secretariat of Women and Substantive Equality (Semujeres). Roxana Hernández Ramírez will assume the role, succeeding Gloria Serrato Sánchez.
Governor Ricardo Gallardo Cardona stated the transition is part of a new administrative dynamic intended to intensify efforts to meet the needs of women across the state's four regions. The new administration will prioritize gender-perspective policies, violence prevention, and increased institutional presence in territorial work.
Outgoing official Gloria Serrato Sánchez reported that her tenure included establishing a temporary shelter for women fleeing violence and coordinating with various state institutions regarding the Gender Violence Alert (AVGM). Pending tasks for the new administration include defining clear criteria for shelters and the remodeling of Women's Justice Centers in Matlapa and Rioverde using federal resources.
