San Luis Potosí rolls out $600 million road upgrades and a new 2 km bridge

The state government of San Luis Potosí has begun a 600‑million‑peso modernization of an 89‑km road segment that links Salinas, Santo Domingo and Villa de Ramos. The project, announced by Secretary General of Government J. Guadalupe Torres Sánchez, is expected to benefit more than 120 000 families, including transporters, farmers and tourism service providers, by improving safety and opening new development routes.

Governor Ricardo Gallardo Cardona also announced the construction of a new vehicular bridge over the Río Santiago, extending more than 2 km between Camino a la Presa and Villa Magna. The bridge is part of the Circuito Potosí network and aims to ease traffic in a high‑demand metropolitan zone, reduce travel times and accommodate urban growth. A second bridge at the Glorieta de la Familia on the Guadalajara exit will follow in the coming weeks. Both initiatives are intended to strengthen regional connectivity, attract investment and support economic activity in the Altiplano potosino and the capital’s metropolitan area.
