San Luis Potosí rolls out multi‑billion peso road and urban infrastructure plan

The state of San Luis Potosí is undertaking a large‑scale urban and road‑infrastructure program aimed at improving connectivity, mobility and economic competitiveness. Key projects include the modernization of the Arista‑Moctezuma highway (over 500 million MXN for more than 25 km of work), a new alternate route to Highway 57, several new bridges and a mega overpass on Circuito Potosí, and the construction of a new San Luis‑Matehuala highway costing more than 22 billion MXN to strengthen the state’s logistics corridor to northern Mexico. State officials, including Secretary‑General J. Guadalupe Torres Sánchez and Governor Ricardo Gallardo Cardona, say the works will support industrial growth, tourism and regional development. The Secretariat of Urban Development, Housing and Public Works (Seduvop) acknowledged that some projects are proceeding without municipal construction permits, but officials claim the lack of permits does not affect the quality or timeline of the works.
