San Luis Potosí security program reaches 14,000 citizens and trains 57 police officers
During June, the State Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC) in San Luis Potosí held Safety Fairs, preventive talks and community activities in six municipalities, drawing more than 14,450 residents. The events, coordinated by the State Civil Guard, offered information on crime prevention, digital safety, gender‑based violence, first aid, mental health, road safety and emergency numbers, involving units such as the Cyber Police, Gender Violence Desk and Medical Cabinet. SSPC head Jesús Juárez Hernández said the program will continue into the next school year with focused outreach to students, teachers and families.
Separately, the State Public Security Secretariat’s Center for Prevention of Crime with Citizen Participation trained 57 state police officers in assertive communication and emotional‑control techniques. Director Eréndira Cárdenas Castro highlighted that the training aims to improve crisis response, respect for human rights and police‑community relations, and will be continued through further courses.
