San Luis Potosí sees construction decline and lower life‑satisfaction

In April 2026 the state‑level construction index for San Luis Potosí fell to 41.6, one of the lowest scores among Mexican states. The value of construction production dropped 10.2 % compared with April 2025, employment fell 10.6 % year‑on‑year, hours worked decreased 7.5 %, and average real wages slipped 3.3 %, while the national construction sector showed modest growth.

The same state recorded an average life‑satisfaction score of 8.59 in the 2025 National Self‑Reported Well‑Being Survey, slightly below the national average of 8.62 and below the Bajío states of Querétaro (8.75) and Aguascalientes (8.74). Men reported higher scores (8.66) than women (8.49).
