Mexican State Officials Push Electoral Reform and New Infrastructure Projects

In San Luis Potosí, the state secretary general of government, J. Guadalupe Torres Sánchez, announced a meeting on 2 June with local deputies to review proposals for electoral reform. The draft changes would align state rules with federal provisions, adjust municipal council structures, legislative budgets and the timing of electoral processes, and aim for a consensus within two weeks.

In Guadalupe, Zacatecas, Mayor José Saldívar highlighted a productive meeting with Senator Verónica Díaz. The officials discussed advancing a specialty hospital and the federal “Housing for Well‑Being” program, seeking federal investment to expand health services and provide new homes for thousands of families. Both initiatives reflect coordination between municipal, state and federal authorities to improve democratic procedures and public services in Mexico.
