San Luis Potosí expands infrastructure with new highway and road works
San Luis Potosí is undergoing significant infrastructure expansion through regional highway projects and urban road improvements. A major centerpiece of this development is the new 118.4-kilometer San Luis Potosí-Matehuala highway, representing an investment exceeding 22 billion pesos. This project aims to reduce travel times and improve safety for those traveling toward northern Mexico, boosting tourism and agriculture in the Altiplano region.
In the capital city, Mayor Enrique Galindo Ceballos has overseen the 'Vialidades Potosinas 2.0' initiative. Over a five-year period, the administration has intervened in 260 streets and avenues, rehabilitating more than 1.6 million square meters of pavement. These works include modernizing basic services such as hydraulic infrastructure, drainage, and sidewalks to improve urban mobility and service access in strategic sectors and communities.
