San Luis prosecutors charge couple with land fraud

Prosecutors in San Luis, Argentina, have filed charges against Deolindo Oscar Arce and María Cristina Llanos for allegedly defrauding a buyer in a land sale. The case involves a 423-hectare property located in the La Constancia area of the Ayacucho department.

The prosecution alleges that the couple sold the land to Fabián Darío Salgado and received payments, but subsequently refused to finalize the deed. Despite an ongoing legal dispute, the pair attempted to transfer the rights to the property in September 2023, an action rejected by the courts. On September 25, 2024, the couple reportedly donated the land to three family members, a move the prosecution describes as the completion of the fraud intended to cause patrimonial damage to the original buyer.

Judge Juan Manuel Montiveros Chadadio approved the charges. As a coercive measure, the defendants are required to report to the judicial authorities every 90 days.
