San Luis Province Free Tours Attract 350 Residents to Sierra de las Quijadas

The Ministry of Tourism and Culture of San Luis province concluded a winter‑holiday program that offered free excursions to the Sierra de las Quijadas National Park. Twelve fully‑booked tours were held, transporting more than 350 local residents from the tourist information office at the intersection of Illia and Junín avenues and providing guided visits across the park’s geological and paleontological sites.

The initiative recorded a highly positive balance, with over 90% of participants visiting the park for the first time. Officials highlighted the program’s role in promoting equal access to tourism, encouraging outdoor recreation, environmental education, and a sense of belonging among San Luis citizens. The results are being used to consider longer‑term strategies for sustaining public access to one of the province’s most iconic natural landmarks.
