San Luis Río Colorado authorities arrest long-time fugitive “El Chava”

Salvador y/o Luis Rubén “N”, known as “El Chava,” was arrested in the Mezquite neighborhood of San Luis Río Colorado, Sonora, after being a fugitive for approximately three decades. The 54-year-old man, originally from Pihuamo, Jalisco, was wanted by authorities in Jalisco on two separate arrest warrants.

The first warrant was issued on September 26, 1996, in Tamazula de Gordiano for kidnapping involving Celso “N”. The second warrant, issued on May 27, 2004, involved qualified intentional homicide against Juan “N” and attempted homicide against Cornelio “N” and Roberto “N”.

The arrest was carried out by the Agencia Ministerial de Investigación Criminal (AMIC) through a coordinated effort between the Fiscalía General de Justicia del Estado de Sonora (FGJES) and the Fiscalía General del Estado de Jalisco (FGEJ).
