San Luis to participate in Global Big Day birdwatching event
The province of San Luis, Argentina, will participate institutionally for the first time in the ‘Global Big Day’ on Saturday, October 10. This international citizen science initiative involves a 24-hour global event where participants record free-living birds to provide data for the Cornell Lab of Ornithology in the United States.
Several protected areas will be open for the event, including the La Florida Floristic-Faunistic Reserve, the Ramsar site of the Guanacache, Desaguadero, and Bebedero lagoons, the Mogote Bayo Natural Reserve, and the Quebrada de Las Higueritas Natural Reserve. These locations offer diverse ecosystems ranging from wetlands to native forests and mountain ranges.
