San Marco and San Lorenzo del Vallo unveil new community football clubs

On 12 August 2026 the ASD San Marco will be officially presented to the residents of San Marco in Lamis at the Villetta Comunale. The event, organized by the municipal authorities, will include family‑friendly activities in the early evening and a formal introduction of the team, technical staff and season plans at 21:00, hosted by Antonio Villani with special guest Ciro Iannacone.

In the nearby town of San Lorenzo del Vallo, a citizen‑led initiative will hold a public meeting on 4 August at the municipal council hall. After more than twenty years without a local team and a recent failed attempt to form a club, organizers aim to create a clean, community‑owned football society that involves ex‑players, families and young people, emphasizing participation over politics.

Both events seek to revive grassroots football in their respective Italian towns, using sport to foster social cohesion, youth development and local identity.
