San Marcos reports infrastructure investment and debt reduction

Mayor Laura Sarayí Alcántar Hernández of San Marcos, Jalisco, presented her second government report for the 2024-2027 administration. The report highlighted significant investments in hydraulic, sports, and public service infrastructure.

Financially, the administration reported a reduction in public debt by 1,826,118 pesos, representing a 15.42% decrease, following payments of nearly 4 million pesos toward capital and interest since October 2024. The municipality stated it has not taken on new loans or utilized advances on participation funds. Additionally, the conclusion of a legacy labor lawsuit resulted in an estimated saving of 1.5 million pesos.

Infrastructure projects included over 5 million pesos invested in the first stage of rehabilitating the Sports Unit, covering soccer and frontenis courts. Efforts were also reported regarding the rehabilitation of water storage tanks and improved distribution in the municipal seat. Regarding transparency, the administration claimed a 99.3% response rate to citizen requests.
