San Marino advances EU association and political ties
San Marino is advancing its integration with the European Union through both diplomatic and political channels. The government is scheduled to provide an update on the progress of the EU association agreement, which aims to integrate the nation into the European Single Market, during a session of the Permanent Council Commission for Foreign Affairs on September 10.
In parallel, the Partito Democratico Sammarinese (PSD) is strengthening its ties with European socialist organizations. PSD International Secretary Gerardo Giovagnoli met with representatives from the Party of European Socialists (PES) to formally request a change in status from an Observer Party to an Associate Party. This move is viewed as a significant political evolution reflecting San Marino’s broader efforts toward European integration.
