San Marino completes first phase of mobile network upgrade
New mobile sites have been activated in Domagnano, San Marino City’s Kursaal area and Murata, marking the completion of the first phase of San Marino’s strategic mobile network modernisation. The project, financed entirely by TIM with an investment of more than €300,000, keeps the infrastructure in public ownership and eliminates any cost to the state.
State Secretary for Industry Rossano Fabbri said the stable, fast connections are “the backbone of any modern economy,” while Secretary for Territory Matteo Ciacci highlighted that the upgrade demonstrates how public interest and infrastructure development can progress together. Technical measurements show a significant improvement in voice and data coverage and electromagnetic emissions well within legal limits. Residents whose older TV sets experience interference can receive refunds of up to €150 for filter installation. The next phase will target Borgo Maggiore and other peripheral areas to further close coverage gaps.
