San Marino implements EU Association Agreement and ICT development
San Marino is entering a new phase of regulatory and economic development following the signing of the Association Agreement with the European Union. The agreement is expected to harmonize consumer rights, specifically regarding the ‘right to repair’ for electronics and appliances, and improve transparency for used goods.
To address the economic landscape, the CSdL union has organized public debates to discuss the opportunities and risks associated with the free movement of people, goods, services, and capital. Additionally, San Marino Innovation and the Sammarinese Association for Informatics (ASI) have signed a memorandum of understanding to strengthen the local ICT sector, enhance cybersecurity, and foster digital skills through new observatories and educational partnerships.
In the social sphere, San Marino is hosting discussions on women's rights, marking 80 years of suffrage and comparing the legal paths of Italy and San Marino. Meanwhile, debates continue regarding disability rights and the need to transition from institutional models to personalized community support.
