San Marino healthcare services exceed waiting time standards
In San Marino, data from the Istituto per la Sicurezza Sociale (ISS) reveals that 17 out of 47 monitored healthcare services are currently exceeding established waiting time standards. This includes 10 specialist visits and 7 diagnostic examinations.
To address these delays, additional services have been implemented in gastroenterology, radiology, and orthopedics. Alessandro Bertolini, director of health activities, stated that increasing available slots is the primary method to reduce waiting lists. In the field of Otorhinolaryngology, the addition of specialists has successfully reduced wait times to approximately four days. Additionally, starting October 1, home pediatric visits will be available for fragile patients up to 14 years of age.
