San Marino to establish Prevention Park near State Hospital

San Marino officials have announced the creation of a “Prevention Park” in the green area behind the State Hospital. Dedicated to the memory of Mariella Mularoni, the project was unveiled during the concluding press conference of “Pink October 2026,” a month focused on breast cancer awareness and prevention.

The initiative, presented by Secretary of State for Health Massimo Andrea Ugolini and ISS Director General Claudio Vagnini, aims to transform the space into a public area for health promotion, memory, and healthy lifestyles. The park is intended to be accessible to patients, families, healthcare workers, and citizens. The project will now undergo technical and economic evaluations to determine its development.

In addition to the park, the Pink October campaign included various activities such as the illumination of the Three Towers, public health meetings, and the donation of DataBreast software to the Breast Unit by the Sammarinese Oncological Association to improve clinical data management.
