San Marino women's football team to begin season in Coppa Italia
The San Marino women's football team is set to begin its new season this Sunday with a Coppa Italia Women preliminary round match against Catania. Unlike the previous year, which began with Serie B, the team's official start will take place in the morning during the national cup competition.
A season presentation was held at the Marlù headquarters, marking the seventh year of partnership between the San Marino Academy and Marlù. The event featured technical coach Giacomo Piva, marketing manager Andrea Nardoni, Marlù co-founder Marta Fabbri, and NTS Sport's Dario Delcarro.
Coach Giacomo Piva noted that while the summer transfer window brought several new players to the squad, the team has largely preserved its core group following last season's successful campaign. The league championship is scheduled to commence the week following the cup match.
