San Martín de los Andes evolves from small village to mature city

San Martín de los Andes has transitioned from a compact, walkable village into a more mature city. While it retains its charm, the town now features increased traffic, gated communities, and large-scale developments on the hillsides, with a population more than double its previous levels.

Despite this growth, the locality continues to offer diverse experiences, including international-standard hotels, professionalized local entrepreneurship, and new hiking circuits through the Patagonian Andean forest. The town also maintains its cultural heritage through museums that highlight both Mapuche and pioneer history.
