Héctor Gutiérrez's Puerta Grande win underscores Spain's June bullfighting roundup

In San Martín de Valdeiglesias, Mexican matador Héctor Gutiérrez earned the Puerta Grande in the third classification of the Copa Chenel, with fellow torero Mario Navas taking an ear, as reported by ABC and Telemadrid.

The Día de la Provincia celebration in Miguelturra attracted about 3,000 spectators. Six local matadors – Víctor Puerto, Aníbal Ruiz, Luis Miguel Vázquez, Fernando Tendero, Antonio Linares and Carlos Aranda – faced Alcurrucén cattle; three secured the grand door, while others earned ears or received applause. Diputación president Miguel Ángel Valverde praised the event.

Other regional recitals included the Castilla y León novice circuit in El Tiemblo where Emilio García‑Torres and Álvaro Rojo each cut an ear, and the Soria “Sábado Agés” where Antonio Ferrera earned an ear with two rounds. In León, José Morante, Sebastián Castella and Alejandro Talavante collected a combined six ears, with Talavante achieving four.
